Genre: Fluff
Rating: G
Words: 491

Summary: Watching the stars with Grune has become a habit.
Author's Notes: Nothing remotely earthshattering about this one--it's 100% pure fluff. After the last fic I posted, my brain needed it.

Sometimes, he wonders why her presence by his side is so necessary to him. )

Summary: Grune watches over her friends, their lives, and their endings. When she discovers one who has not found peaceful rest, she deems it necessary to intervene.
Author's Notes: This was a joint idea that Naomi and I had, which we worked out in the comments to one of my fics. It's something of a spinoff of "White Is For Remembrance" and "Green Is For The Goddess" and was written in a similar vein. Whether this is going to turn into a series is anyone's guess, but signs point to yes. Just like everything else I write.

This one required extensive editing, and while I think it could be even tighter, I'm still pleased with how it turned out. So, well, happy reading!

She looks into the face of a dead man then, and though the eye sockets of a skull cannot widen, a spirit may still gasp. )

Summary: Grune reflects on how very quickly Dhaos has become vital to her.
Author's Notes: This was originally the opening to another fic I hope to post soon (working title: "Resquiescat in pace"), but I decided it strayed too far from the overall focus. It works decently enough as a stand-alone drabbly thing, though, so I tweaked it and cleaned it up, and thus here we are.

One scant century, and yet her first thoughts upon rebirth are always of him. )

Summary: Grune makes two wishes on Tanabata: One large and one small.
Author's Notes: This is a repost from all the way back in July; I wrote it shortly after Tanabata, during Dhaos' month-long mallynap. Except for a few changes to reflect how threads turned out, all I did was clean it up to post. I'm on the editing stage for my next new fic, but it'll be a while before it turns up in that it got fairly complex. So I guess this will have to do in the meantime. :|b

Summary: Being one woman's quest to obtain a proper explanation of exactly what Valentine's Day is all about.
Author's Notes: It's still February I win!! /...cough Anyway. This is the platonic companion to [personal profile] hickumu's lovely "Pink Is For Your Special Someone." I actually started writing it before she posted the fic, so there aren't really...all that many similarities. Oh well.

Summary: When she catches Dhaos asleep on their couch, Norma decides to be "helpful" and gets Grune in on the bargain.
Author's Notes: Yeah, idk about the title--it's just fun to say. XD

Anyway! This particular AU comes from me wondering: What would it be like if Dhaos moved into House 34 once he started dating Grune? It's an AU because I'm pretty sure Prince Dhaos here is too mannerful to ever consider living under the same roof as his girlfriend before marriage...but the idea is too much fun not to write, so voilà!

Probably first in a series, but with me, who knows?

Summary: When she's unable to help a dear friend in need, Grune at last reaches a decision.
Author's Notes: Something small I wrote to fill in the gaps between Cecil and Selphie's reactions to Ceodore's departure and Grune's first serious conversation with Nala, more to sort things out in my head than anything else. Anyone who wants to see what was going through Grune's head at that point is more than welcome to read, though. ♥

Summary: Dhaos thinks about the always transforming nature of memory.
Author's Notes: First in a series of thirty-one themes (rather obviously). As a whole, these are briefer and more unpolished than what I usually write; I tend to use them as a rest for my brain between larger pieces. I'm gonna start posting them fairly often, as I've built up a fair few over the past while (I'm just about to head off and finish one now, for example). They tend to skew to angst, but that's more because of how October's themes worked out than any intent of mine. Next one's fluffy, though.

Summary: Far away in the mountains, Grune watches the world end.
Author's Notes: Oh lord, I should have posted this sooner. This was written shortly after October's falling moon event to fill in the gaps of what happened to Grune on Luceti's supposed last evening. There's not exactly a lot to this one, but hey.

The moon was very close now. )

Summary: A second funeral and a second farewell. There will not be a third.
Author's Notes: This one was written in I believe early November--I can't exactly remember. It took quite a bit of editing, but I'm pretty pleased with how it came out. I certainly can't say this is how things are going to end, but...it's a possibility.

This is the sequel to "White Is For Remembrance" and makes far more sense if you read it second, so anyone who hasn't read that one yet probably will want to first.

It's rare to attend the same man's funeral twice, even when you are the companion of the Weaver of Time. )

Genre: Angst/Gen
Rating: PG
Words: 860
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the above media.
Summary: As she says farewell to one of her dearest friends, she cannot quite get all the details right.
Author's Notes: This is a repost (with some editing) of a fic I wrote last summer and passed around to only a few people--Yosie, Hickumu, and Levy, IIRC. It's fairly easy to tell I wrote it before the whole mutual hatred thing really got going between Dhaos and Giles, but I wound up leaving that part of it alone. Eheh.

It's fourth in a series Hickumu and I are unofficially writing; you don't need to have read the previous three fics to understand what's going on, but it might help.

Tales of Legendia and Buffy the Vampire Slayer spoilers abound, so be warned.

Oddly enough, it's the smallest details that are hardest when jumping to a culture for which she has not prepared. )

Summary: Neither Dhaos nor Giles understands what Grune sees in the other--but they understand the danger in each other all too well.
Author's Notes: So I, um, wrote this in...late September. Or possibly early October. Pretty much the same time as "The Importance of Honest, Direct Communication," back when the whole "Dhaos mind controls Giles" plot first came up. I thought I'd write a possible way things could have come to a head; too bad I didn't post it in anything remotely like a timely manner. Oh well.

The second man who observes from behind the eyes of the one that Grune sees—he unsettles Dhaos. He wonders what it would take to bring that man to the fore, to display his heart's weakness. )

Summary: Fifty small moments between a king and a woman in disguise.
Author's Notes: Being extremely unfamiliar with the Final Fantasy series (I've only ever gotten most of the way through FFX), I thought these would be a lot harder than they turned out to be. I guess Cecil and Grune's long, long threads filled in that particular gaping hole in my gamer credentials. :D;;

A note on #22: I was really reluctant to use "blind" in any sense but visual impairment, but I ended up doing so anyway. I just didn't want to get into that territory in only one sentence. So yeah.

Summary: The early days of Grune and Dhaos' relationship, as seen through the eyes of Fenimore, Norma, and Dhaos. Part 3: Dhaos discovers the perils of embarking on a relationship with one of the most innocent (and most social) members of Luceti.
Author's Notes: This is the part of the fic that's most showing its age. Some characters' situations and relationships have changed significantly since I wrote this in early fall; rather than reworking the fic extensively, I chose to change only superficial details and leave the overall structure of the fic intact.

There are also a number of characters who have become close to Grune in the time since I wrote the fic and its posting (Pao-lin and Seto come immediately to mind--and Robert, but I kind of doubt he'd be giving a talk to Dhaos) who would have gotten their own special scenes. I suppose that's what drabbles are for....

Special thanks to [livejournal.com profile] hickumu for helping me with Giles' section! ♥

Anyway, this is the final part, so enjoy!

Chapter 1
Chapter 2

He supposed it was only to be expected. Grune had the love of more people than Dhaos could keep track of—much to his discomfort. It was only natural for them to be protective of someone so innocent. )

Summary: To make room for the other presence / We both draw back in our minds
Author's Notes: I wrote this in June 2011 or so, but didn't realise my Luceti fic was going to have such a large audience, and so I never posted it. This fic may no longer be accurate, since Grune and Dhaos' relationship has been developing slightly differently than I expected, but hey.

And so, she takes every opportunity, and then a few more, to hush her voice. If the resulting changes in Dhaos' behaviour are not intended for her, that does not mean she cannot pretend they are. )

Summary: The early days of Grune and Dhaos' relationship, as seen through the eyes of Fenimore, Norma, and Dhaos. Part 2: After worming some shocking news out of Fen-Fen, Norma has a big important talk with G-Girl.
Author's Notes: So my voice recognition software doesn't like Norma's nicknames. Sob.

Also, I made some assumptions while writing this, chiefly that Dhaos would eventually get sick of Norma's assumptions about his relationship with Grune and informed her they weren't actually sweeties. Whether that's going to actually happen in canon remains to be seen.

Chapter 1

All right. Time to get down to business. 'I'm really happy for you, G-Girl, but we gotta talk about some stuff. IMPORTANT stuff,' she made sure to emphasize. )

Summary: The early days of Grune and Dhaos' relationship, as seen through the eyes of Fenimore, Norma, and Dhaos. Part 1: Fenimore attempts to solve the mystery of "Who Finished Off Grune's Remaining Wits?"
Author's Notes: Yeah, this was supposed to be a short one. And I did manage it for the first chapter! ...But the second and third exploded on me. Whoops. So, I guess you could consider this more of an introduction than a first chapter, but whatever.

The phrase "honest, direct communication" (c) the first result that came up when Googling "relationship communication." :|b

Narrowing down the party responsible for Grune's unusually unusual behaviour was a big job, though, and, after a bit, Fenimore took to working out the problem as she did her chores. )

Summary: The always odd and never boring daily lives of [livejournal.com profile] luceti's Legendia crew as they relate to Grune.
Author's Notes: Damn these were fun. But, then again, considering how Legendia's cast is just one oddball after another, it was to be expected. All of these are Grune-centric--either from her point of view or how the characters in the cast relate to her--but I was going for writing what I know.

Everybody gets multiple references, even Sophie (though hers are pretty sparse). Yup.

Author's Notes: Working title: ALL THE CAKES. Somehow, though, I thought that lacked a certain...je ne sais quoi.

This story is set between August 31 and September 2, 2011. Yes, I am amazingly on top of things. :|b Also, writing Fenimore is fun. I'm going to have to do it more often. ♥

Summary: And so why now? Oh, please not now / I just stopped believing in happy endings, harbours of my own
Author's Notes: This was a lot of fun to write. Once again, I found a lot easier to work from Dhaos' point of view for purposes of keeping succinct and keeping to the theme. Here's hoping I actually managed to keep him in character!

But you had to come along didn't you
