I didn't really have any way to convey it in the course of RPing with everyone, so I ended up writing it out like this. Grune pulls this exact same stunt in Legendia--or, from her perspective, she will pull this exact same stunt. For someone who's so concerned with helping others, she's sure not very good at accepting help herself.

This fic is super-old, and I wrote it after a particularly sad fic as a way of clearing my brain. It isn't remotely meant to be taken seriously.

Though, doing so anyway, I find it kind of interesting. On one level, Dhaos' attempts to decide for Grune what her clothing should be definitely fall under that whole controlling thing that Grune raked him over hot coals for when she had her memories back. On the other hand...it's Grune. She needs the help.

...Also, I read a few threads of Shiki's when I first came up with this, but how do I wrote TWEWY character. Hopefully she's not too bad....

Author's Notes: In a nutshell, my take on one of the ways the Vampire!Giles plot in Luceti could have run. I harbour no illusions that this is actually how things would have turned out--but it was fun to write anyway. Ceodore and Selphie's roles were determined by their position on the sign-up lists; everything else came from my brain.

A note for those unfamiliar with Tales of Legendia's canon: The deity of Melfes is Nerifes, which is also the ocean of that world. Thus, any water-element spells also have the dual element of light.

Thank you very much to hickumu for helping me with details of the Los Muertos variety of vampires and how Vampire!Giles would have reacted. Any mistakes are most definitely my own.

Author's Notes: So, one day, I thought to myself, "Grune sure runs into a lot of bitties. What would it be like if she had encountered them all at once?" And thus the Grune and the Bitties series came into being.

I'm hoping to eventually write one fic for each bitty she's encountered, although at the rate she runs into them, it's going to take a long time. But that's okay. These are as fun as hell to write, so I don't mind. :D

Some notes for understanding:

* This version of Fenimore is the Luceti Valley version. She's somewhat spunkier and more adventurous than her canon counterpart--but not completely so. Regular Fenimore was fairly mischievous when she was younger, too. ♥

* Fenimore is a Ferines, a water- and air-breathing species from Tales of Legendia whose hair glows blue whenever they're breathing water. So, well, don't be surprised when that's referenced.

* "Eres" are what spells are called on Melfes. A "teriques" is, in short, the projection of a Ferines' soul that can be used for numerous purposes. Walter uses his teriques to fly and Stella has used her to stop a giant laser. (Seriously!)

* The bitties involved and their ages: Sophie (3), Dhaos (6), Fenimore (7), Hubert (10), Helios (12), Ginia (12), Rupert (12)

Author's Notes: This is the part of the fic that's most showing its age. Some characters' situations and relationships have changed significantly since I wrote this in early fall; rather than reworking the fic extensively, I chose to change only superficial details and leave the overall structure of the fic intact.

There are also a number of characters who have become close to Grune in the time since I wrote the fic and its posting (Pao-lin and Seto come immediately to mind--and Robert, but I kind of doubt he'd be giving a talk to Dhaos) who would have gotten their own special scenes. I suppose that's what drabbles are for....
