Summary: Fifty moments in the lives of the Foyle Family.
Author's Notes: I've been rewatching Foyle's War lately, and I've gotten that old familiar writing itch. So, to practice before I embark on a larger-scale project, I wrote these instead. I'm defining the Foyle Family as Foyle (naturally), Sam, Paul, Andrew, and Brookie. There's also a definite bent toward Sam/Paul, as it's become one of my ships for the series and I'm planning on writing more of it later. So yup!

Summary: When O'Brien doesn't answer Sisko's hail over his combadge, Sisko and Odo assume the worst. In this case, however, their pessimism may not be called for--and may, in fact, make things a touch awkward.
Author's Notes: Because everyone in Star Trek jumps to conclusions way too often, and it has to have bitten them in the ass at least once or twice over the years.

Summary: Varric comes up with a couple of different ways to pass the time on the Storm Coast.
Author's Notes: This is a combination of party banter turning up in a funny place and the conversation between me and my brother that followed. Don't think too long and hard about the likelihood of this one particular song developing both on Earth and Thedas.

Summary: Sequel to Out of Step. A few weeks after discovering Thranduil's feelings for him, Bard still does not know whether he wishes to court him. After all, they have rarely spoken outside the meeting room--do they truly know each other? This chapter: The final day of walking out and the decision.
Author's Notes: Thank you very much to all my readers for joining me on this fic! The next installment is already written, but in a very rough form, so unfortunately I won't be posting it anytime soon. My goal is to have it to you all by the end of the year, but hopefully it'll be sooner than that.

Enjoy the conclusion!

'Someone to see you, sire,' the stocky man she'd indicated was saying, but Bard's gaze was already travelling past him to where a tall, lone figure stood a few paces outside the gathering. )

Author's Notes: What happens when you take two guys who don't know how to relax and stick them together for a day? This chapter, apparently.

Author's Notes: And here we are: the next part of the series formerly named The Healing of the Northern Kingdoms and now called Sharing the Path, because I finally found a naming scheme I like.

This follows "Out of Step" directly, so if you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend doing so before continuing here.

A huge thank you to philosothor and bmouse for their respective amazing lore and plot/reading mechanics betas, and to dreamingfifi of RealElvish.net for translating into proper Sindarin what I was aiming for with a certain Elvish name. You three are the best!

I hope everyone enjoys, and Happy Barduil Week! <3

Summary: When "Torin" Garak's coworker asks him to get rid of the Human boy asking for a job at their Cardassian restaurant, Garak decides to do the manager's job for her and hire "Julian Banting" instead.
Author's Notes: ngl this was one of my absolute favourite fics to write out of the entire series, and like the Arranged Marriage one, I have a few more ideas for it kicking around the back of my head. Whether I'll get around to them remains to be seen, but I hope I'll have the time eventually.

Summary: Keiko has many beautiful smiles. The one she wears when she suggests that they should invite Julian and his new partner Garak over for a dinner party is not remotely one of Miles' favourites.
Author's Notes: I've been meaning to get around to posting this one for, um, over a year now. Whoops.

I don't think I've ever written anything from Miles' perspective before, actually! It was a bit of a challenge, in that I didn't want to write some of his more 90s TV husband traits but I also wanted to stay true to his character. Balancing his actual reasonable dislike of Garak with him also being grumpy was interesting as well.

I'm not sure if I'll be writing anything else from his point of view any time soon, but it was a good exercise in the meantime. And it was an excuse to write more about Keiko, as well as one of my OTPs, and I never say no to that!

Also: I've included a bonus wry joke for anyone who's read A Stitch In Time. Five points if you catch it. <3

Summary: Bard has been invited to King Thranduil's halls alone, without his council. For what reason, he does not know--the Elvenking's thoughts have always been beyond Bard's ability to guess.
Author's Notes: I'm holding three people responsible for this series: bmouse, who got me thinking about this pairing in the first place; Ewebean, whose art (especially this piece) ended up birthing this story, and bendingsignpost, who is the most enabling enabler to ever enable. I hope the three of you are happy (because I sure am).

Major thanks go to Ben for a kind and excellent beta, and for Jeff, who not only betaed but became my Tolkien loremaster. While not much of his answers to the many involved questions I've lobbed his way are going to turn up in this fic, they'll definitely be important later. Any mistakes, then, in the lore are mine.

Also--I'm now on Patreon! If you'd like to support my work, why not drop a tip in my tip jar over there? More information can be found in my profile on the site.

Thank you very much and enjoy the fic! <3

Summary: The first Lovers' Day since Jadzia's death, Kira has to make a decision.
Author's Notes: Happy Femslash February! I had been expecting to celebrate the month with my current favourite femslash couple, Kira/Jadzia, but then this popped into my head and demanded to be written. I didn't think I shipped Kira/Ezri, but after writing this I sure do!

Slightly AU, set in a 'verse where reassociation is not a taboo among the Trill. (Although lbr, given Ezri was also a Starfleet science officer on exactly the same station and with exactly the same friends as her previous host, I don't think the writers were too concerned about that by Season 7.)

And so Kira had gone to the holosuites and had beaten the shit out of as many computer-generated images as she could until she had been too exhausted to grieve. )

Summary: To repair the damage done by its interference in the Demilitarised Zone, the Cardassian government has proposed a marriage-enjoinment between one of its citizens and one of the Federation's to symbolise the renewed relations between the two governments. Julian had gladly agreed to marry Garak, Central Command's "volunteer," but now he's learning all over again that nothing involving Cardassians in general and Garak in particular is as simple as it appears on the surface.
Author's Notes: The sequel to Chapter 12 of my fic involving the 30=Day Cheesy Tropes challenge. The trope was, unsurprisingly, "arranged marriage." I had been trying to keep thing short, but by the time I finished writing that chapter, I had way more ideas in my head that were demanding I write them. Eventually, I gave in and got down some of them, and this is the result.

Who knew this trope could be so much fun?

'But the fact of the matter is, I can't make someone else do this. At the very least, I know Garak, and I know that, whatever he might have done, it's in the past. He's a different man now, I'm sure of it.' )

Prompt four: Nog at Starfleet Academy. Does he need special accommodations? How does he deal with the culture shift? Does he find the climate of San Francisco pleasant or unreasonable?

I would absolutely love to have made this longer, but at the time of its writing, my offline life hadn't been conducive to writing, so, well, that's all I've got.

I went with the "sir as default" thing that Star Trek did when it was airing, but yeah. Someday there's going to be a fic about this.

Author's Notes: I had so much fun with being as terrible as possible in this one. Dukat may be a horrible person, but damn if he isn't a blast to write sometimes.

Thank you very much to tinsnip, who reblogged this travel calculator at exactly the right time for me not to make embarrassing timing mistakes with this fic. :D;;

Summary: After yet another victory for the Klingon Empire, Martok joins his soldiers in celebrating at Quark’s. However, there is one Klingon who sits alone.
Author's Notes: Oh boy, oh boy, was this ever hard. While I can certainly respect the amount of time and thought both the makers of Star Trek and Klingon fans have put into Klingon culture…it is really, really not my thing. About the only place where Klingons and I agree is how awesome singing is. Other than that, well—it’s Cardassians and Vulcans for me. So when I saw this week’s challenge, I knew what I had to do.

I still can’t believe I wrote this.

Author's Notes: I'm a huge sucker for non-nuclear families, so when Herc found his way into Carolyn and Arthur's lives, well, that was it for me. I knew exactly where my ficcing drive was taking me with this fandom.

I have another one written with this pair and a couple more ideas on top of that. None of them are particularly long, but you never know: that might change.

Summary: Ziyal has many reasons to stay on DS9.
Author's Notes: This is a rewrite of the scene where Dukat and Ziyal part. Originally, the only reason given for Ziyal wanting to stay on DS9 was that she was waiting for Garak. That really didn't jive with me, though (and it was pretty damn sexist): surely Ziyal would have all kinds of reasons behind her decision. And so this is what came out of that thought.

Summary: A look in on the weekly night out of the dabo spinners of DS9.
Author's Notes: My submission to DS9 Tumblr Zine for the prompt "Close Encounters of the Third Kind"!

It didn't take me as long as I expected to think of what I wanted to do for this week's prompt. For all DS9 has so many amazing secondary characters, this popped into my head right away, possibly because I've been writing about Leeta a fair bit lately. I thought it would be nice to give the dabo spinners (because I absolutely refuse to call them "dabo girls") a chance to interact with each other and be more than eye candy. I figure they would get along pretty great, because there's nothing like a common foe *coughQuarkcough* to bring people together.

Summary: When it comes to dealing with muscle pain, Julian and Garak find that there's really nothing like physical touch. Featuring a trope played straight, subverted, and then resolved in three acts. This chapter: Communication occurs at last.
Author's Notes: So I've...kind of had this chapter written since something like last June--I've just had a lot of projects that have continually shoved this down the queue. But considering a lot of you seem to like this one a great deal (to my delight and bemusement), I figure it's probably time to put all of you out of your misery.
