Author's Notes: So this is over a year old and one of the last things I wrote before I went on my massive DS9 binge. It was born from the speculation of what direction the Buffy comics were going to take with Giles. This was one of the possibilities, even if it wasn't the direction the comics ended up going in. Possibly Giles would have preferred this to what actually happened.

I'm going to get back to posting my Luceti fic now, I think--I currently have a massive backlog of stuff I wrote but never got around to dictating up. I'm just going to be really slow about it. :D;;

Author's Notes: This is the second part of three based on Episode 2x23 "Crossover," which focuses on Kira's recovery during approximately the same amount of time as Julian's in the previous chapter. Unfortunately for her, however, she had things rather worse than him.

On a personal note, unfortunately, as my job resumes with the beginning of the school year, the rate at which I'll be posting fics will slow down dramatically. I still have plenty of them lined up, but making time for proofreading will be much more difficult from now on. /sigh

Author's Notes: So this got long. Really long, which is why I haven't updated this fic since it was posted. Originally, this was supposed to be a single chapter, but there was just so much awful thrown at Julian and Kira in this episode that I ended up just writing and writing and writing the fallout. So it's now in three parts, one of which is very short, but, well, it made more thematic sense to divide it up that way.

I didn't really have any way to convey it in the course of RPing with everyone, so I ended up writing it out like this. Grune pulls this exact same stunt in Legendia--or, from her perspective, she will pull this exact same stunt. For someone who's so concerned with helping others, she's sure not very good at accepting help herself.

Author's Notes: In a nutshell, my take on one of the ways the Vampire!Giles plot in Luceti could have run. I harbour no illusions that this is actually how things would have turned out--but it was fun to write anyway. Ceodore and Selphie's roles were determined by their position on the sign-up lists; everything else came from my brain.

A note for those unfamiliar with Tales of Legendia's canon: The deity of Melfes is Nerifes, which is also the ocean of that world. Thus, any water-element spells also have the dual element of light.

Thank you very much to hickumu for helping me with details of the Los Muertos variety of vampires and how Vampire!Giles would have reacted. Any mistakes are most definitely my own.

Summary: Days after the assassination of Emperor Karl V of Malkuth, Peony confronts the first of many hard decisions that will mark his reign.
Author's Notes: This one comes from a discussion rallalon and I had a couple of nights ago. This aspect of Peony's role as emperor was mentioned only briefly, but it stuck with me, and I wondered: How would a man who exerted every effort to make peace between two bitter enemies react to death on a much smaller scale, and death far closer to home?

There are a few events referenced from my semi-AU Peony headcanon here. First is the assassination of Karl V, Peony's father, which I ficced about here half a year ago. Second is my own personal take on the "struggle for succession" that sent Peony to Keterburg as a child--that Karl VI, heir of Karl V, attempted to assassinate his father and was publicly beheaded. Karl V made all his remaining heirs watch to send a message, including Peony, who was eight at the time.

And before my ramblings become longer than the fic itself, I'll end here.
