Author's Notes: Does what is says on the tin. #13 has two parts, because I wrote "Fall" before noticing the four seasons theme, but liked what I'd come up with too much to junk it. So yeah.
01. Air
Ginia's laugh is something Grune sees, not hears, her breath jumping out in a cloud in the crisp winter air.
02. Apples
Grune and Link spend an afternoon picking apples, and after Ginia works her magic, they all share the resulting pie with the residents of CH7, Room 22.
03. Beginning
Grune is so tired she can barely focus on the writing in her journal, let alone answer the question, but that's all right: soon, she'll have a new friend.
04. Bugs
Logistics aren't exactly Grune's strong suit, but fortunately, Ginia has a good head on her shoulders.
05. Coffee
They lie side by side, watching the clouds, and the wind makes mint coffee with their hair.
06. Dark
Alice grins at her, blood sliding down her face, and it's not only the enemy who has been dealt a blow.
07. Despair
Grune doesn't know why Ginia is sobbing; she can only hold her close and hope to say something to make her smile again.
08. Doors
Grune turns all her barriers from unbreachable walls to open doors.
09. Drink
Ginia's handwriting wobbles as badly as her steps, and so Grune helps her home to take the nap she so clearly needs.
10. Duty
Neither will abandon a friend in need.
11. Earth
Ginia is careful to tell only the happiest stories of her home; the wonder in Grune's face makes the selective truth bitterly difficult to bear.
12. End
She doesn't understand why her friends won't let her wake Alice from her little nap.
13a. Fall
They jump in carefully raked piles and get leaves stuck in their hair, and for just a little while, Ginia feels like a kid again.
13b. Fall
The special smile Ginia has for Giles alone confuses her, until Dhaos comes to see her peonies in bloom.
14. Fire
Alice is unrestrained and uncontrolled, but the tenderness she shows her flowers convinces Grune she only needs a little help learning to be a good person.
15. Flexible
Alice or Ginia, Grune is happy to see either.
16. Flying
When finally, finally their kites are aloft, Ginia admits to herself that the effort of teaching Grune how to fly them was worth it.
17. Food
With Ginia to prompt Grune when her memory lapses mid-recipe, together, they're able to pull off culinary feats that leave even Link full at last.
18. Foot
Grune's sincere desire to help means Ginia's friends, too, now come in all shapes and sizes.
19. Grave
This new Grune looks at her with such gravity, such ancient compassion, that abruptly, Ginia feels very small indeed.
20. Green
Grune can bring forth new life in anything—even Alice herself.
21. Head
Ginia sometimes wonders if there's anything in Grune's.
22. Hollow
Some days, when her thoughts can't pull away from the past, an absentminded woman's happy chatter is all she needs to fill up that place inside where her family had been.
23. Honor
And some days, she wonders what she could have possibly done to deserve such limitless love.
24. Hope
A visit from Grune during the latest draft is all she needs to keep going just that little bit longer.
25. Light
Grune sees it in Alice, where she herself does not.
26. Lost
It's hard to imagine, Ginia reflects as she gently sets Grune back on her course, how anyone could get lost walking down the street, but somehow, Grune manages it.
27. Metal
Her world of guns and knives would be cruel poison to a gentle soul like Grune, and Ginia's determined to protect her from all of it.
28. New
The expression of pure delight on Alice's face when she sees the tiny shoots, green against brown, makes Grune's joy truly complete.
29. Old
How can she still be loved by a woman who might have watched her sun be born?
30. Peace
The third time she finds herself stepping into Grune's garden after a difficult, painful week, Ginia realises she's found a sanctuary.
31. Poison
Ginia is still not sure how she made it through what was more coal than cookie, but she has a suspicion the hopeful look on Grune's face had something to do with it.
32. Pretty
"Oh, my, you look so beautiful!" Grune exclaims, and even if she's not the person Ginia is trying to impress, she's touched all the same.
33. Rain
She's a cold, drenched mess, but when Grune starts giggling, she can't help but silently join in.
34. Regret
Alice can't change who she's been, but for Grune, she can change who she will be.
35. Roses
Grune saves one for Ginia, so she can have something beautiful to welcome her home.
36. Secret
Grune, Giles and I have a secret, and we wanted you to be one of the first to know.
37. Snakes
Some of the people Grune tries to befriend make Ginia think she'll be grey before her next birthday.
38. Snow
Ginia is very good at snowball fights; Grune is glad she's on her team.
39. Solid
In her own way, Grune is one of the most dependable people Ginia knows.
40. Spring
To Grune, the arrival of spring is to be celebrated, not absently noted; Ginia thinks she could get used to that kind of philosophy.

It takes only an instant for Ginia and Giles to simultaneously decide that Grune can look at the horses in the Battle Dome simulation—she can't ride them.

When Alice leaves, Ginia laughs to think she had once worried that Grune would be bothered by something so mundane as her inability to speak.
43. Summer
Summer is weeding and weeding, and Ginia or Alice to bring her happiness as they work together.
44. Taboo
Grune thinks they can talk about anything, and Ginia works hard to ensure she's never given cause to believe otherwise.
45. Ugly
It would be easy to feel plain next to beautiful Grune, except Ginia never does—not when the only thing more lovely than Grune's body is her soul.
46. War
Norma discovers water balloons and tells Grune everyone would love to be cooled down on such a hot day; everything goes according to plan until they round a corner and run into Ginia with a hose.
47. Water
Grune forgets the lemonade, but it's fine—Ginia will share any cool drink on a day like today.
48. Welcome
Ginia invites Grune to help her with New Feather orientation, until newcomers start leaving more confused than when they arrived.
49. Winter
They make snow angels and snow sculptures, and when Ginia gives her special hot chocolate after, Grune can't think how she could be happier.
50. Wood
Ginia is positive they've seen this tree at least six times before, but she stills her hands and lets Grune go as she will.
