Welcome to Seikilos, the writing journal of one Vyctori.

Because all the cool kids were doing it, I decided to pick up one of these thingers for myself. I'll be posting just about everything I write, even if I'm the only one interested in it (as may be the case with my 30_hugs themes). I'll probably be posting old fics from up to a year ago on here, as well. Just about the only thing you won't be seeing on here would be any self-indulgence fics I write, because those things should not see the light of day.

What do I write?

Fanfiction and original works. However, 99% of the content archived here will be fanfic; you'll see my original stuff if when I'm published, basically.

The genres I write for are:

* romance (het/slash/hopefully someday soon femslash)
* gen
* humour
* angst
* ...flangst? (A headlong mash-up of fluff and angst.) Bittersweetness?
* I really dunno; check my tags.

As for fandoms, I currently write for the following:

- Tales of Symphonia
- Tales of the Abyss
- Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
- Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
- Doctor Who
- roleplay canon, such as omg_symphonia and symphonicstory

I may write for these fandoms in the future:

- Tales of Legendia

And these are canons I've written for in the past but will likely not write for in the future:

- Yu-Gi-Oh
- Golden Sun
- Fire Emblem: The Blazing Sword (Rekka no Ken)
- Naruto

Where's my journal name come from?

"The Epitaph of Seikilos" is the oldest confirmed, complete piece of music in existence. Its date of composition is anywhere between 200 BC and 100 AD. I've seen two translations for its Greek words:

As long as you live, be happy;
do not grieve at all.
Life’s span is short;
time exacts the final reckoning.

I've always loved this song and find it inspiring, so I thought seikilos would make a good name for my writing journal (and it was practically guaranteed not to be taken).

Journal Rules:

Yeah, should be obvious, but here are a couple of quick guidelines to keeping the both of us happy here:

- No trolling. I mean it.
- No flaming. This includes my choice of pairing, my writing style, other readers, etc. Doesn't mean I'm not open to constructive criticism, mind.
- Play nice, with both myself and the other readers.
- Do not ask me about "Blaze." I wish I had never written the damn thing, because it was poorly written, poorly characterised, and poorly plotted, and I'm completely baffled as to why I'm still getting requests to read it. The fic is dead and buried--please let it rest in peace. Please.
- Any content with a rating above PG-13 will be friends-locked. You must friend seikilos and I must friend you back for the content to be accessed. When you click the cut, you acknowledge that you are of age to view mature content and you acknowledge that I am not responsible for your actions.
